Did you know that Temerloh is known as Bandar Ikan Patin? I looked up and there was this signboard trumpeting this! Wish I could have taken pix. But I was still in shock and awe :P.
As always the case, Malakoff being the overall sponsor will ensure local dishes being served for "hungry" and deserving cyclists. So the Gulai Ikan Patin" wouldn't miss the chef's menu for the Temerloh function. And you know what? I kept on fishing and fishing in the big serving container but struck none! It must have been so delicious that it's gone within minutes. I must thank my cousin Abe Mat, a local restaurant operator, for preparing some "gulai ikan patin" for my wife to take home(she happened to join and follow the ride until Temerloh). The Gulai Ikan Patin was still delicious even after three days later ie after coming back from Kuala Terengganu. My wife said I had to complete the 480km first before I was allowed to eat the preserved "Gulai Ikan Patin". Certainly no regret! Shakiman.
